Hi my name is Mark Wallace and thank you for stopping by my Toe Nail Fungus blog page.
If you’re like I was… You’re desperate to find a cure for the unsightly, embarrassing condition that stops you from ever showing your feet in public!
If you suffer from toenail fungus or think you may have nail fungus, keep reading and I’ll tell you about my story with the unsightly toenail and nail fungus and how I finally got rid of the problem!
If you think you may have nail fungus this is what it looks like:
(Note: Toe Nail Fungus can occur on both your feet and hands)
Like many people, my toenail fungus started in my big toe. It started as a whitish/yellowish spot under the tip of my nail on my big toe!
Initially I thought nothing of it, I assumed I’d just knocked it playing football or something as it was a little sore, so I left it and thought it would clear up in a couple of days.
I forgotton all about it to be honest, that was until I was in the locker room after football, I looked down (as it was a little uncomfortable) and noticed that most of my nail was yellow and a bit thicker.
I had absolutely no idea what it was, but I was kina freaked out by it, so I headed off to see my Doctor as soon as I could!
He had no problem identifying my thick, yellow, brittle toenail as nail fungus and told me about some medications I could take to fight the problem. Now to be honest, I’m not a very big believer in drugs and medications, especially ones that can cause damage to the liver (lamisil)…..anything that contains terbinafine can harm your liver!
So stupidly I didn’t take anything, hoping the nail fungus would just somehow……go away on its own!
Ummm that was a mistake, you see I play a lot of sports, which in turn means, hot, sweaty, damp feet, the ideal environment for nail fungus to spread, and guess what it spread, to all but two toes, on both feet, now this didn’t happen overnight, it slowly spread over a couple of months, but I was mortified!
By this point I found that i had to trim my nails really short (painfully short) If I knocked them the pain was, well painful, and I often caught a nail on sock fabric that pulled them – again bloody painful! – I’d had enough I got online to see if I could find some alternative treatments for nail fungus. As usual I ran into the same old he said, she said, mom and pop treatments, and most of them just sounded ludicrous.
This is when I found a site called http://www.how-to-stop-nail-fungus.com/ I read through the whole page and actually found it to be pretty educational… considering the fact that the page was designed to sell me something.
At this point I figured, “To hell with it, this book is cheap and if it doesn’t work, then so be it, it’s no skin off of my nose and if it does, I won’t have to head back to the Doc and get a stupid prescription filled.” So I downloaded the book that was offered on their site called, Nail That Fungus Forever and began reading and before long I was putting one of the natural treatments to use and making a list of foods with certain vitamins for my next grocery run.
I know it may sound over the top – but within a couple of days using just one of the treatments, I noticed that my nails were less painful the yellowish colour looked a little better and they seemed to be less brittle my nail fungus was slowly getting better.
I headed back to the Doctors, (book in hand) and showed him my nails and the natural treatments I’d been using…..He was seriously shocked that I was already combating the nail fungus, and to be fair to him, he was very receptive to the use of natural treatments!
Since I’ve been using these treatments and following the simple changes in my diet & lifestyle I haven’t had another problem with toenail fungus – and I don’t think I will.
(Because my nails were so bad, it did take over 2 months to get rid of the nail fungus, but if you catch it sooner than I did then you’ll have great nails really quickly)
That’s it – That’s how I beat toe nail fungus. No over-the-counter drugs, no expensive treatment just a few simple treatments and a revised grocery list gave me my toenails back. I’m a firm believer in the information from this page.
